SHELL COLLABORATIVE WORK ENVIRONMENT (CWE)

Client

The Ministry of Oil in Iraq awarded Shell, Petronas and Missan State Oil Company a 20-year contract for the provision of technical assistance in the development of the Majnoon oil field. Shell, through its subsidiary Shell Iraq Petroleum Development B.V., has been designated as the lead operator. Majnoon is one of the largest oil fields in the world, and according to the Ministry of Oil, has an estimated 38 billion STOIP (stock tank original oil in place).

The Challenge

Shell's Collaborative Work Environment (CWE) is a state-of-the-art facility designed to enable real-time collaboration between teams in different locations. The CWE integrates advanced audio-visual systems, video conferencing capabilities, and interactive displays to facilitate seamless communication and decision-making processes. To ensure the success of this critical infrastructure, Shell required an ICT provider with extensive expertise in integrating complex audio-visual systems, network infrastructure, and support services.

The ICT provider needed to cover the following disciplines:

• Network Infrastructure Solutions
• Fiber Optic Cabling System
• Audio Visuals Integration
• Personnel Equipment & Services (Docking Stations, Conference Phones, IP Phone Handsets, Display Equipment)
• High end Audio systems and Camera's deployment
• Maintenance Services on all Disciplines (On-site Maintenance Visits, Ad-hoc on Call Support, Online Monitoring of all IT services)

Our Solution

Vizocom was selected to provide comprehensive ICT solutions for Shell's Collaborative Work Environment. Our scope of work included the design, supply, installation, and maintenance of advanced audio-visual systems, network infrastructure, and support services for CWE rooms in both Majnoon, Iraq, and Dubai, UAE.

We designed and implemented a custom-built environment that integrates cutting-edge technology to enable seamless collaboration. The solution utilizes high-standard products from leading manufacturers including Crestron for video control, Extron for signal management, Cisco for video conferencing, and Clearone for audio control.

The CWE rooms in Majnoon and Dubai are equipped with state-of-the-art systems that enable real-time collaboration, video conferencing, and interactive presentations. Each room is designed to support multiple users and various collaboration scenarios, ensuring flexibility and adaptability to different operational needs.
